GoFundMe donations are popular for reaching individuals who need assistance. But in the wake of the Hurricane Harvey, many are questioning whether GoFundMe is the best place to be sending your donations.

Be aware of who you are donating to with your Hurricane Harvey donations. Many websites keep a large portion of your Hurricane Harvey donations as part of their “service.” Others keep a large portion of your donation for “administrative overhead,” so you really want to be careful of which charity you donate to if you want your charitable donations to go directly to the victims of Hurricane Harvey.
